In a continuing effort to create awareness for the environment and to promote a “Greener” campus, WAB has put in motion a plan to greatly reduce the use of disposable water bottles and paper cups throughout the school.
To accomplish this, a variety of initiatives have been put into place. Individual bottles of water are no longer available for sale at the school. Students and staff have been encouraged to bring reusable water bottles from home. Coolers are available throughout the school campus, offering easy access to safe drinking water. Each staff member received a WAB 15th Anniversary mug for their coffee or tea. Ray Kelly of Gift Edge International – a long-time friend to WAB, donated the mugs. There are also mugs available for use by parents and visitors to the school.
With an enrollment of over 1500 students and hundreds of staff members, the decision by WAB to encourage the use of non-disposable containers for beverages will have a substantial impact on the reduction of waste produced by the school.
