'IBMYP PERSONAL PROJECTS'

On Monday 21 February the MSHS held a presentation night and exhibition for the Grade 10 Personal Projects.

The Grade 10 students have been working on their projects for seven months. The diversity of projects created by our students is a testament to their willingness to take risks as learners and their capacity for critical and creative thinking.

When people arrived at the exhibition they were confronted by a visual presentation highlighting the physical effects of smoking; an art book documenting the representation of beauty throughout history; a new mascot for the German Olympic team; a jewelry portfolio; a fashion portfolio; an art piece dealing with the impact of American culture on China; a fictional story about a teenager during the Iraq War; and a new sporting game for those who are not inclined towards physical exertion and flexibility.

The multimedia projects included a new computer game, which was much coveted by our Grade 7 students; DVDs on soccer coaching; musical compositions; and a DVD specifically designed to teach teachers about iMovie.

Last but not least were the many other projects such as business plans, a feasibility study for a new horse-riding stable in Beijing, a guide to starting a successful small business in Beijing, and many others.
